The Southside Opportunity Fund expresses its appreciation to everyone involved in making the annual Opportunity Fund Skeet & Trap Classic on Oct. 6, a wonderful success in raising money for scholarships. Those involved includes the participants, the Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox, which hosted the event, and the Appomattox 4-H Shooting Education Program volunteers, who coordinated the shooting.

The Southside Opportunity Fund is an independent nonprofit created by the Southside Electric Cooperative Board of Directors to provide scholarships and other services to Cooperative members. All proceeds from the skeet/trap shoot will go toward scholarships for graduating seniors at high schools in the Cooperative’s 18-county service area. In three years, more than 50 scholarships totaling more than $50,000 have been awarded to graduates headed to college or a trade/technical school. Visit www.sof.coop for more information.
